ME2 Problems Galore

Chances are high that if you have some sort of DLC code for BioWare’s newly released sci-fi RPG epic, Mass Effect 2, you’re probably pulling your hair out right now.

According to Kotaku, there are myriad issues plaguing players’ experience with the game. For instance, there are reports of GameStop codes not working, activation issues on the Cerberus Network (BioWare’s in-game DLC launching pad), and an inability for many players to even connect on the PC version’s Cerberus Network. There are also reports of Blood Dragon armor issues, the helmet in particular being a thorn in some gamers’ sides.

Have any of you fine folks run into similar problems? My course load prevents me from diving into Mass Effect 2 until the semester ends, so I can’t say I’ve experienced any troubles—or the game, for that matter. I might just cry. But if you’re experiencing download troubles, don’t fret, because BioWare handyman Chris Priestly (sorta) has you covered.

  1. Yes. I entered my code on EA / MassEffect .com and a server error occurred and now my code is gone forever.

  4. I didn’t have any problems downloading any of the new content that WAS available, thank goodness. THE BLOOD DRAGON HELMET DRIVE ME NUTS. I was frantically looking for something in options or the squad menu that would allow me to take off that darn helmet. I just went back to default armor instead. At some point I might like to see my character’s face. I didn’t try out the gamestop armor yet though. Did that have the same problem?

  5. Yea no face when not whereing default, uber fail

  9. so if you are having trouble recovering your ME1 character, make sure you’re signed into the character you want to upload, and if that still doesn’t work go back and finish that final fight then once the credits finish try again.

It took some work but I got my character uploaded this way.

  10. I was disapointed because I was not able to import my ME1 save. After much research, I found that I could not do this because recently I had transfered all my data to a new hard drive (i got the MW2 console for christmas) and the import save only works if the save was originaly made on that hard drive. I tried to start a new game in ME1 and just use my current character, thus having my hard drive be the original place, but no luck. Looks like if I don’t want to have my choices made for me, and my romances, then i have to do a whole playthrough of ME1 while everyone is playing ME2. And this is just the start of mt day.

  11. When I entered my Cerberus Network code it only downloaded one of the DLC packs that it was supposed to, but the next day there was an update and it loaded fine. So it was fixed fast at least.
