I had the awesome opportunity to interview Vince Scheuerman, lead singer of the band Army of Me. Vince and I sat down and talked about the inspiration for his music, his stance on faith and more. For more information stay tuned to Episode 144 of the Hardcore Christian Gamer Cast. Visit Army of Me’s website here.

If you like good music that separates itself from the mainstream norm of most Christian Pop than you HAVE to listen to Jaymes Reunion. With a mixture of Maroon 5, Paul McCartney, Mark Schultz and Coldplay you won’t be disappointed with their sound.
Join Drew with lead singer Cameron Jaymes on Episode 101 of the HCG Cast as he asks all the questions that you want to know about being a Christian in the music industry and of course some game talk as well.
Cathy Grossman from USA Today’s Faith Blog aptly titled “Faith and Reason” contacted moi in regards to a game called Playing Gods: The Boardgame of Divine Domination. In this game you apparently play as Jesus, Moses, Buddha and a figure suspiciously Mohammed-like and try to take over the world by converting or destroying the population. As with any game like this it’s apparent that they are trying to strike publicity in the faith-based market by getting a rise out of people. Just hope the Muslims don’t riot again in protest while the Christians apathetically stand by.

Interview with Spyro Developer Michael Graham
Posted November 7th, 2008 in Articles, Interviews, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Wii, Xbox 360 by Candace Holly
“The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon” is currently available in stores on all of the next gen console platforms. This final installment of “The Legend of Spyro” offers us a new gameplay experience, and the voice talents of Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins from Lord of the Rings), and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker from Star Wars). This game is promising new faces, more entertainment, and the ability to play in a one and two player mode as Spyro and Cynder.
I had a chance to speak with Michael Graham from Activision about “Dawn of the Dragon”. Michael has been credited with work on Heavenly Sword, Twisted Metal, and all three of “The Legend of Spyro” games.
Candace:What is the first thing a player will notice when they start to play “Dawn of the Dragon”?
Michael:I think that the first thing players will notice when they start playing “Dawn of the Dragon” is that it has a more epic tone to it than any other Spyro game. Today’s platform adventure genre is filled to the brim with games based off of cartoons and animated films, nearly all of which have a very young tone. We wanted to make a game that was challenging and moody without being overly pandering or childish. Younger players are a lot smarter and more patient than they are often given credit for and we aimed to give them an experience that was similar to games and movies that have inspired our generation. The majority of games in the youth space seem to avoid themes of “good versus evil” or put players in intense situations. We wanted to change that and provide younger players with an experience that is unlike anything available in their demographic. This is evident right from the start of the game when Spyro and Cynder are attacked by a massive golem.

Guitar Praise is the upcoming music/rhythm game being released this month from Christian game developers Digital Praise. The announcement of the game was featured in many videogame news outlets including Kotaku, Shacknews, and Wired’s Game|Life blog. We e-mailed the company a few questions about the game and company president Tom Bean and marketing consultant Diana James-Cairns were kind enough to answer them for us. Check it out after the jump!
