God of War Goes Multiplayer

by Chris Hayes

Up until now, the God of War franchise has been a strictly single player affair.  However, it looks as if that will be changing when the newly announced prequel, God of War: Ascension, launches.  We now have confirmation that Ascension will feature multiplayer modes for fans to enjoy.  Beyond that, we don’t know much.  We do know that there is at least one mode that involves team gameplay, with two teams of four attempting to capture certain points on the map.  As is typical with the God of War franchise, the map shown involved a large cyclops in the background.  The team that captured the most points was able to move in on the cyclops for the kill.

It appears that the new multiplayer modes will be every bit as bloody and gory as the single player experience.  Hopefully they’ll cut back on some of the sensuality this time around.  What do you think of a multiplayer God of War game?
