HCG Review: Pirates Vs Ninjas Dodgeball

When Blazing Lizard studios announced a video game in which you could play out (via dodgeball) the greatest pop-culture rivalry of all time I thought “this has to be good”.  Plus, zombies and robots-I mean c’mon this game could quite possibly be the greatest game ever created right?…

Pirates Vs Ninja’s Dodgeball is almost a blasphemy to the awesome reputation of pirates and ninjas everywhere.  The lack of graphics, storyline and replayability cause this game to suffer like the undead.  The graphics look like this this game should have been released on the Xbox.  Granted that this is an Xbox Live Arcade title, so is Castle Crashers and the difference is astounding.  The controls are spotty at best, I kept loosing the lock on my targets, and several times it would cause me to miss all together.  It’s a dodgeball game, shouldn’t the ease of play be emphasized on “throwing the ball”?  The sad excuse of a storyline is you repeating the same maps over and over each time gaining a new member to your team.  The A.I. in the game is a atrocious, it only takes a few moments for your team to be defeated and then your more than likely left to fight by yourself.

I can’t really tell you what the multiplayer is like because I could not find anybody playing it.  In conclusion, if you are looking for a good game to waste your time that has a ninja and I think a pirate go download Small Arms.
