tversity_wii_oct08_18[1]When the Wii first arrived on shelves in 2006, freely available for download was a web browser powered by the folks at Opera. After a short amount of time, though, the browser became a premium addon for $5.

Today, the Internet Channel returns to its previously free status. Anyone who bought it will receive a free NES game from the Virtual Console from now until October.

  1. I sold my brother-in-law my Wii a while back. I’m not sure if I bought the browser when I had the Wii… If I did, hey, he’ll get a free VC game. I’m sure he’ll be happy to hear that.

  2. Sweet! I’ll go get that now then.
