Do any Sony rumors turn out to be false these days? Doesn’t seem like it to me, folks. Consider this: those rumors about Netflix coming to PlayStation 3 are true. Starting next month (no specific date was mentioned), you can fire up your PS3 and watch thousands of movies, TV shows, cartoons, and weird documentaries about ice cream (don’t ask). Naturally, you’ll need a Netflix account to get anything out of this situation.

I for one am excited by this announcement. Now my Xbox 360 can be completely devoted to playing nothing but games, while my PlayStation 3 remains my entertainment hub of choice. This is partly due to the Xbox 360′s proclivity for mysteriously dying—the fewer things it needs to do, the better. Conversely, the PS3 is built like a Sherman tank, so it can handle the extra load.

What say you? Does this announcement make you squeal with glee or simply sigh? Sound off!
