Final Fantasy XIV Coming Next Year?

Yes indeed, dear readers, Final Fantasy XIV is coming exclusively to the PS3 — so says Sony anyway. And what’s more: it’s coming next year.
But don’t get too excited, as this isn’t the next entry in the main series. FFXIV looks to be an online experience, though whether or not it is a MMORPG remains to be seen. Considering the rumors spreading recently about a Square Enix-produced MMO for the PS3, I’d say that’s precisely what FFXIV is, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Check out the site in the near future for more details.

So FF 13 is on ps and xbox but 14 will do back to just ps?
Why?
No idea, Soul. I don’t see this one doing the kind of business FFXIII undoubtedly will, mostly due to its being an MMO (of some sort). Console MMO games don’t usually get big numbers like their PC brethren.
And who knows, maybe Microsoft wanted certain concessions met in order to make a MMO work on their console, and Square Enix couldn’t meet them. Whatever the deal, I’m not playing this anyway, regardless of the platform…unless there aren’t any monthly fees (which I doubt).
This was also revealed as a PC title.
@SOG Hollywood: Figures. First Microsoft’s all like, “Hey, we’ve got Left 4 Dead and nobody else does,” forgetting to mention it’s on PC. Now this.
I’m sure this is great news for the couple hundred people who will bother to play it, whether it be on PS3 or not.
