  1. My Favorite scifi movie? It is hard to narrow it down to just one, but I guess it would probably be the Empire Strikes back. The original Star Wars trilogy are classics and I believe this is the best paced and best story of the entire series. It is dark and a bit bleak, yet there is also a tint of hope about it. Much like real life ;) Though bad times happen and things can be hard, with God there is always hope…

Anyway. Empire Strikes Back…that is my final answer :)

  2. It would be too easy to just say Star Wars, but I’m going to say that my favorite Sci-Fi movie right now is “Stargate.” It was a pretty good movie for it’s time. The world they were able to create on the other side of the stargate was amazing. This movie also spawned three very popular t.v. series that are very good. I love the whole idea of traveling to different planets and if the stargates were real I’d love to be on one of the “away teams!”

  3. Event Horizon Great flick

  5. The Empire Strikes Back- when I first saw it my mid was blown- Vader is Luke’s father! Han is frozen in carbonite! Luke’s hand was cut off! Leia is in love with Han! Billy Dee Williams is more than just a Colt 45 Malt Liquor pitchman!

  9. Well, the Star Wars Universe is definitely my favorite, but for something original, and it’s not a movie, but I would have to do with the series “Angel.” It was a spinoff of Buffy, with David Boreanaz (of Bones), playing Angel. The storyline was pretty good throughout the show, sometime bluring the line between good and evil; a nice twist. Too bad it only went a few seasons.

  10. Normally I would say Star Wars, but this year’s Star Trek movie really cought my interest. So now I think they are tied. Star Wars and Star Trek.

  12. I’m inclined to say anything Battlestar Galactica (The reimagined series), though seeing that’s not really a movie I’m going to spin-off the mainstream scifi (I guess that actually exists, lol) and go with “The Fountain (2006)” with it’s amazing visuals and score by Clint Mansell.

  13. Starv war episode 4 is probably my favourite Sci-Fi movie. I thinkm the best starwars movies were episodes 4-6 then episode 1 is my next favourite. Episodes 4-6 are great because despite the technological limitations they looked great and they told an excellent, epic story.

The main reason I like episode 1 so much is Darth Maul he was an excellent sinistor villan with little to no dialogue. Darth Maul is the coolest villian in the star wars saga in my opinion.

I did not really care for episodes 2 and 3, in relation to other movie they were ok but in my opinion they did not match the standard set by episodes 4-6.

  14. District 9 is a good movie. I dont really know if its a sci-fi type of movie though :P the only thing i dislike about District 9 is the over use of the F-bomb and other nonneccessary use of language. Besides that i really really enjoy this movie. The use of CGI is fantastic. The aliens look so real. I would rate this movie on a scale of 1-10, a 9.5. If it had no fowl language at all it would be a definate 10.

p.s. Paranormal Activity is a great movie also.

  19. I would have to say Return of the Jedi. Darth Vader gets redeemed by his son, the Empire is defeated, Luke and Leia are brother and sister, and yes when I was a kid, I did love the ewoks.

  22. The favorite most recent sci-fi movie is Surrogates. I thought this was a great movies and really hit home as a gamer considering the online alias we create the live through. District 9 was an AWESOME movie the hit on the darker sides of humanity and relations between people groups and cultures.

And of course I must say Star Wars, because that whole universe has just gripped and hasn’t let me go. As an adult, I watch the clone war cartoon on Cartoon network for crying out loud. Now that is a franchise
