Valve will reveal downloadable content for its popular zombie-fueled shooter Left 4 Dead, “shortly.” According to a video podcast with Kotaku, Chet Faliszek, one of the game’s writers, confirmed that the team was looking to add Versus functionality to the Dead Air and Death Toll campaigns and to release brand new scenarios.
Faliszek also stated that, unlike Team Fortress 2, Valve plans to release DLC for the Xbox 360 and PC at the same time. During the recording, which took place on December 15, Faliszek speculated that DLC news would be releases before Christmas Day but said the announcement could be delayed due to the press team going on vacation. “We’ll have an announcement shortly, I don’t know exactly when.”
No pricing details for either platforms were discussed.
Okay, no matter the price I am pretty sure that I will be buying it!
Strong Bad is here again. This time he has created a movie called Dangeresque 3. You have to play out each scene by figuring out how to make things happen in the scene by clicking on things. On that note, the game play is the exact same as the previous episodes in the series. There is nothing new there.
The story is probably the best one of the series so far. You play as Strongbad playing an agent called Daneresque. This game plays up the predictable nature of spy/action movies with all their predictable twists and turns. The idea that it is a really bad attempt at making a movie makes it extremely funny. Locations are used multiple times and props are forgotten so they are in scenes they are not supposed to be in. It is really obvious when they use body doubles.
This is the most Christian friendly game of the series. But that being said, Strong Bad is still overly rude to his friends and ends up cutting the movie to make himself look good and removes the scenes that the others wanted left in.

Buy. This is the best game of the series and if you are a fan, you will love it.
Today, World of Warcraft launched their new expansion; Wrath of the Lich King. The expansion features a new hero class for players to experience. It also features new zones, instances, leveling areas, professions and the level cap has been raised to level 80. Blizzard has learned a lot from the launch of World of Warcraft, and from the shaky launch of The Burning Crusade. Wrath of the Lich King is by far the smoothest I have seen in some time.
The Burning Crusade brought us plenty of downtime, server lag, and server restarts. Not to mention the starting zone for all level 60’s was located in one place; Hellfire Peninsula. Wrath of the Lich King changed all of that. Two starting areas are available for the players - the Borean Tundra and the Howling Fjord . Players concerned about server lag, and camped questing spots will breathe a sigh of relief. The new zones being split have allowed for more room, less lag, and less camped areas.
Another smart move with the launch of Wrath of the Lich King was Blizzard adding elements of the game a month in advance. Patch 3.0 gave us some new features to World of Warcraft. Stormwind Harbor was opened which linked all the major Alliance cities. The new zepplin towers near the Undercity also showed up, giving players promised passage to Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. Barber shops, offering players new hairstyles and better character customization were also offered in the patch.
Baddest of the Bands is the third game in the Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People episodic series. This is a point and click adventure. In this episode Strong Bad’s gaming system breaks and in order to fix it he decides to book a battle of the bands to raise the money he needs.
You control Strong Bad and click around the screen (on various items and characters) to solve puzzles to move the story along. There really isn’t much to tell on the controls side as it plays the same as the two episodes before it (and almost like any other point and click adventure).
The jokes are witty and I laughed my head off at Strong Bad being so hard up for cash that he would even take Canadian money.
This game took me around 6 hrs to finish. There was a good balance of easy and hard puzzles.
Christian Perspective:
Again this game really isn’t for your kids as this game does deal with adult themes. Strong Bad is always putting down everyone around him. This game promotes cheating to get what you want. The Teen Girl Squad cartoon in this games sees all the girls dying in some gruesome ways. That being said, this game is very mild. There is no cussing or sexual themes. I see no problem with Christian adults playing this game.

If you are a fan of the Homestar Runner web comics then this is a buy.
I was nervous when I read about Guitar Praise from Digital Praise (DP). DP’s history of games has been touted heavily to the Christian youth market with games like Dance Praise (Dance Dance Revolution for Christians), Adventures in Odyssey and various VeggieTales games. Naturally as a self-proclaimed hardcore gamer I thought that I probably would find no enjoyment in one of their titles. I was, however, wrong.
The beauty of Guitar Praise is its simplicity. In spirit it’s Guitar Hero but digging deeper it’s much more. As a Christian, the content alone should be enough for hardcore gamers and casuals to enjoy. The songs are all by Christian bands like Switchfoot, Skillet, Flyleaf or Chris Tomlin. The game allows for 2 players to play against each other (if they both have a guitar) and the lyrics are displayed as the song plays so that others watching can sing along.

Salutations fellow gamers! It is the beginning of the week and that means new releases for all our favorite consoles. Fall is upon us and the temperatures are starting to plummet, just like the amount of money in my wallet! I am on a fixed budget and cannot afford all of these games coming out this holiday season. If only I sold my landspeeder to those darn Jawas, I might have enough money. Ok, enough of the lame Star Wars references! I must warn you gamers, this week is a bit lean in terms of the number of games coming out. Not to fear though! I have looked into the future using my Jedi powers and I forsee a ton of blockbusters coming out in the weeks and months to come. The following releases are for the week of 09-29-08 to 10-05-08.
