More Guitar Hero Coming This June

If you somehow haven’t burned out from rhythm game over-exposure, then perhaps this bit of news will excite you.
Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, a collection of songs from the first three Guitar Hero games plus Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s, hits stores June 16. It will be available on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PS2. The game will feature 48 master tracks (not the covers used in the original games), all perennial Guitar Hero favorites.
So far, these are the songs we know will be included:
Guitar Hero
“I Love Rock ‘n Roll” – Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
“Bark at the Moon” – Ozzy Osbourne
“Killer Queen” – Queen
Guitar Hero II
“Them Bones” – Alice in Chains
“Carry on Wayward Son” – Kansas
“Free Bird” – Lynyrd Skynyrd
“Message in a Bottle” – The Police
“Killing in the Name” – Rage Against The Machine
Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s
“Nothin but a Good Time” – Poison
“I Wanna Rock” – Twisted Sister
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
“Through the Fire and Flames” – DragonForce
“Barracuda” – Heart
If you’re wondering why you should buy what is essentially a greatest hits collection, consider that these songs were previously only playable on guitar (if you ignore a few inclusions in Rock Band). Now, the whole band can play along. Speaking of the band: I don’t know if there will be a box set with a full compliment of instruments, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

this is the best example of milking a franchise, just realease these songs as dlc
I think this is how the game came to be:
Boss: What do we have?
Minion: Nothing new.
Boss: Fine then. We’ll just put old games in new packaging and they will never know the differance.
