If for some reason you have yet to play Assassin’s Creed, have a PC and a Steam account, and/or don’t mind blowing a small wad of chump change, this is the deal for you. The wonderful folks behind PC gaming client Steam slashed the price of Assassin’s Creed to a measly $5. The reason? Who knows. Maybe they want to get the five people that didn’t play the original excited for the sequel.

If you’re one of those five people, and you have a PC capable of running a current-gen game (unlike mine), why not plunk down five ham bones? Assassin’s Creed didn’t shake the game industry up or do anything noteworthy, but it’s definitely worth more than $5. Heck, I might just take advantage of the deal, regardless of my crappy computer. Just in case.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot: the sale ends tomorrow, October 22nd. So, um, buy it now. Or nowish. Whenever you get the time; no rush.

HCG PSA: Xbox 360 Accessory Sale

Posted January 16th, 2009 in Microsoft, News by Sean Beanland

By way of GamerDeals.net, Buy.com will be cutting the price of the ridiculously overpriced wireless network adaptor to the not quite ridiculous price of $69 starting on Sunday, January 18th and running to the 25th. The regular price is $99.

That’s still about $20-$30 more than is actually reasonable, but this may be the best price you find on a brand new adapter for a while.

In addition to that, the red controller with Play & Charge kit is being discounted from $64.99 to $42.99.

I wouldn’t be surprised if these sell out quick, so don’t take too long making up your mind to buy.

Holiday Sale at Steam

BioShock is currently running for $5. The expansions to the original Half-Life, Opposing Force and Blue Shift, are priced at 99 cents. The Valve Complete Pack is currently at $75, as opposed to $99 normally. The classic Beyond Good & Evil is $7.50 right now. Grand Theft Auto IV is selling for $45.

There are a ton of savings going on right now, so use this opportunity to stock up on the games you missed out on, and get some newer games at a good price.

Xbox Live Marketplace Black Friday Sale

Posted November 26th, 2008 in News by Sean Beanland

Major Nelson has announced over at his blog a weekend sale on a few items at the marketplace. Some arcade games, DLC for a few full retail games, and some themes have all been marked down for the weekend.

The price cuts aren’t incredibly dramatic, but it may be enough to finally convince you to download that copy of Boogie Bunnies you’ve been pining over all these weeks.
