Fan-made Remake of Original Half-Life Looks Amazing

This has been in development for several years now, but there is a new trailer for Black Mesa: Source, the fan-made mod that aims to totally recreate the original Half-Life using the latest version of Valve’s Source engine. The mod also features an original music score and new voice acting.

Valve did release an updated version of Half-Life called Half-Life: Source, but it only updated the water and physics in the game. The textures and character models were the same as the original.

The latest trailer gives some hope that the mod will actually be released. I’m sure that Valve is watching the development closely. Who knows, they may offer these guys jobs when all is said and done.

Check the trailer after the jump!
