It appears that Ubisoft has created an online marketing campaign called “Code of Conviction” where the end result is unclear.  From what has been learned so far, there are 4 slots to input codes, each time you input the correct code you are asked for your gamertag and email.  You are then given a series number and your gamertag displayed on the side of their website.  When you get a confirmation email it also appears that you will win something when this campaign is over, whether it’s some Avatar clothes or an early demo is unclear.  So far the second code is “1600″ no new information for the third and fourth.  If you have any information and would like to share it, please post it here on the site.

This is probably the craziest Twitter and/or gaming-related news I’ve heard in quite some time…

Ashton Kutcher — of That 70′s Show and marrying Demi Moore fame — challenged CNN (yep, that CNN) to a Twitter follower contest. If Kutcher gets 1,000,000 followers before CNN, he’ll “Ding-Dong Ditch” Ted Turner’s house (Turner owns CNN, in case you’re wondering why he’s getting the ol’ ring-and-run routine). If CNN wins… Well, that’s not terribly clear at the moment.

To spice this ridiculous news soup up, EA Games threw its hat in the ring, saying it will award Kutcher’s one millionth follower with every game published by EA this year. Yes, every game. In these times of economic hardship, that’s a sweet prize. Heck, that would be a great prize any time.

As cool as the EA prize is, I can’t help feeling like this is a sign of the end times…

New York, NY, April 1, 2009 – MTV Games and Harmonix’s Rock Band® are joining forces with Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment to celebrate the May 8^th theatrical release of the film STAR TREK from director/producer J.J. Abrams. The first-of-its-kind collaboration will fuse together the massive cultural followings of both STAR TREK and the video game phenomenon Rock Band to engage fans with free music, an in-game battle of the bands, and futuristic avatar creation contest.  

Beginning today, fans can register for a 15-day sweepstakes that will give away 500 free Rock Band Music Store downloads each day from April 7^th through April 21^st for the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360® and PlayStation®Store for PlayStation3.  

And if that’s not enough – fans will want to fire up Rock Band 2’s online Battle of the Bands mode to participate in the STAR TREK Ultimate Battle. Bands of three to four players can battle the Rock Band galaxy. The band with the highest score will win a STAR TREK hometown movie screening for their band and their friends. Additionally, twenty randomly selected players will win an awesome STAR TREK/Rock Band prize pack equipped with STAR TREK and Rock Band gear. The Battle of the Bands component will begin on April 20^th and run through April 27^th.  

The Rock Band and STAR TREK promotion will culminate when the first-ever avatar creation contest launches on April 27^th. Fans will be asked to create a futuristic avatar in-game and export it to RockBand.com for the community and Harmonix team to judge the winner. The Duke of Gravity will ultimately decide which avatar has what it takes to rock with the Enterprise crew.  The winner will be chosen on May 11^th and win “The Future is Now” prize pack including the top of the line Rock Band game accessories.

For those of you who are not aware, Twitter is a social networking tool that allows people to keep up with their friends and family with up-to-the-minute updates.  Basically it’s a tool for obsessive compulsive people like me to let everyone else know what they are doing.
